Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo Kicks Off Annual Zoo Lights

Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo has flipped the switch to turn on the lights at its annual ZooLights.

ComEd and Lincoln Park Zoo members kicked off the holiday season Friday.

More than 33,000 strands of lights, with 2 million light bulbs, are used to illuminate the zoo. Visitors can take in over 100 displays and 140 hours of programming. They include musical light shows, carousel and train rights, free crafts and photos with Santa.

The zoo expects more than half a million people to attend the free event. ZooLights runs through Jan. 1.
