FBI Drama Filming in Chicago Upsets Some With Fake Gunfire: Report

A Katie Holmes TV show being filmed on Chicago’s Near North Side upset some parents after actors portraying FBI agents descended Tuesday near a neighborhood school causing alarm.

The faux federal agents swarmed near Immaculate Conception St. Joseph School at the Seward Park basketball courts and fake gunshots could be heard in the area, according to the Chicago Tribune.

One parent told the newspaper it was “unconscionable” that the city would allow the scene to occur after the recent mass shooting in Florida at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

The school did notify parents of the filming, the Tribune reported.

The city’s Cultural Affairs and Special Events department said advance notice was given to area residents and the school.

The Fox pilot stars Holmes as a special agent hunting down leads in a terror threat. It has been filming since March in Chicago.

According to the Tribune, a few parents called Ald. Walter Burnett Jr.’s office to complain about the filming—specifically because of the staged gun violence.
