No Injuries in West Garfield Park Fire

The fire was out by 2:30 a.m. but the cause wasn't immediately known

Firefighters early Tuesday put out a two-alarm fire that caused a roof of a commercial building on the city's west side to cave in.

The fire on the 4500 block of West Fulton Street, in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood, was first reported about 12:50 a.m. It was upgraded to a two-alarm about 20 minutes later, a fire department spokesman said.

No injuries were reported, but the building’s roof had caved in by 1:09 a.m., fire officials said.

The fire was out by 2:30 a.m. but the cause wasn't immediately known.
