Dramatic Temperature Drop in Store for Chicago Area

Following a warm and windy Monday, the metropolitan area will see temperatures dipping into the low-50s by Tuesday

The Chicago area is set for a major cool down this week, with highs dropping nearly 20 degrees in most areas by Tuesday.

Following a warm and windy Monday, which saw highs in the low- to mid-70s, the metropolitan area will see temperatures dipping into the low-50s Tuesday. Some areas could see highs near 60 degrees Tuesday but cities along the lakefront may see temps dropping into the low-40s.

Wednesday will stay unseasonably cool with showers and light rain possible.

Temperatures look to bounce back into the 60s by Thursday, with cooler temps expected along the lakefront.

The city is expected to see a fairly mild Memorial Day weekend with highs in the upper-60s and low-70s, though there could be a chance for storms by Sunday.
