Chicago Cubs Announce New Sports Network, ‘Exclusive Television Home' For Team

The network will feature live game broadcasts, featuring Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies, pregame and postgame coverage, "unique Cubs content" and other local sports programming

The Chicago Cubs have made it official - they're launching a new regional sports network aimed at giving fans around-the-clock coverage of the team.

Pairing with the Sinclair Broadcast Group, the Cubs announced the launch of Marquee Sports Network, which will give fans increased access to the beloved team and will be "the exclusive television home of the Chicago Cubs beginning in 2020."

The network will feature live game broadcasts, featuring Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies, pregame and postgame coverage, "unique Cubs content" and other local sports programming, the team said.

“We are excited to better serve our fans with expanded and exclusive programming showcasing our remarkable players, beloved ballpark and storied past,” Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenney said in a statement. “Our dedicated ‘Cubs-centric’ network will carry all available Cubs games and feature uncompromising, in-depth and behind-the-scenes coverage.”

The Ricketts family said the decision furthers their goal to "provide an enhanced experience for Cubs fans."

"From preserving and enhancing Wrigley Field, to building Sloan Park and Gallagher Way, to expanding in-game programming and increasing our social media engagement, our fans are at the heart of everything we do," Kenney said. "It’s time we deliver the comprehensive coverage and rich content they desire."

Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks, and Bulls will all remain with NBC Sports Chicago, according to reports.
