The Chicago Cubs made a minor league signing on Friday ahead of their annual fan convention, inking pitcher Rob Scahill to a deal.
Scahill, who graduated from Willowbrook High School in suburban Villa Park, last pitched for the Chicago White Sox during the 2018 season. In six appearances, Scahill posted a 5.40 ERA and struck out three batters in five innings of work.
In 124 total major league appearances, Scahill has a 5-7 record with a 3.85 ERA and 99 strikeouts in 149.2 innings.

The Cubs will report to spring training in mid-February, and will begin playing games on Feb. 23.
