Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant will return to the lineup on Wednesday as the team completes its series against the San Francisco Giants.

Bryant, who has been out of the lineup since late June with shoulder inflammation, completed a rehab assignment with Tennessee, and will bat third for the Cubs as they complete their Bay Area series.

During Bryant’s absence, the Cubs racked up a 10-6 record, including wins in nine of their last 11 games. The team’s offense has been carried by a variety of players, including Javier Baez and Ben Zobrist, but getting Bryant’s back in the middle of the order will be welcome news as the team approaches the All-Star break.
