The Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies are finishing off their season series on Wednesday, and there have been some fireworks at Coors Field.

Just a day after Cubs star Kris Bryant was hit by two pitches during a game, Rockies star Nolan Arenado was hit by a pitch from Cubs hurler Cole Hamels. After yelling at Hamels and going down to first, Arenado was removed from the game because of a bruise on his arm, according to the Rockies. 

From there, the drama continued to escalate, as Hamels was hit by a pitch from Rockies reliever Bryan Shaw in the seventh inning, and then Anthony Rizzo was plunked in the eighth inning by Phillip Diehl. 

Rizzo responded by taking second base, a seeming violation of baseball's "unwritten rules" about conduct in a blowout game. Following that play, which was ruled as defensive indifference by the official scorer, Javier Báez launched a 460-foot home run into the left field bleachers, giving the Cubs a 10-0 lead:

The Cubs and Rockies won't have another chance to exchange "un-"plesantries this season, as the game is the final one between the clubs during the 2019 campaign.
