Chicago Could See Accumulating Snow This Weekend

The Chicago area could see its first taste of measurable snow this weekend with up to 2 inches possible in some areas.

Temperature highs will stay in the upper-30s for Saturday with mostly cloudy skies. Though there will be periods of sun, conditions will likely stay seasonably cold.

Heading into Sunday, light snow is possible during the day with 1 to possibly even 2 inches possible by the late evening hours. Highs will stay in the mid- to upper-30s, however, so there is chance the snow could mix with rain at times.

The system is developing and whether the wintry weather will be all snow or a rain-snow mix is determined by a matter of just a few degrees, so the predictions could change as Sunday approaches.

Temperature highs return to the 40s for the start of the next work week with another chance for snow possible Wednesday night and Thursday, when temperature could drop into the teens for the first time this season.
