Chicago Company Gives Gifts to Children Who Recently Lost Mother

A family of five still recovering from tragedy received a big surprise this holiday season.

W&W Towing gives back to the community in some way each year. This year, they gave gifts to five children who recently lost their mother.

Back in September, Chicago police said 36-year-old Derrick Wells shot and killed Claudia Mister outside the Black Cat Lounge, leaving Mister’s mother to raise her children.

“All of sudden grandma had to do everything because my daughter did everything, so now I gotta do everything," grandmother Roulette Luckey said.

"We definitely felt compelled and it's not so much about us it's about these kids," said Earley Walker of W&W Towing.

While the gifts will give the children’s a nice Christmas, their grandmother is hoping for another holiday miracle.

Right now only three of grandchildren are with her. The two others are with their father in Atlanta and she does not have the money bring them home for the holidays.

"Hopefully with us doing this it touches somebody else's heart," Walker said.
