Chicago alderman on Wednesday morning are expected to discuss the construction of a combination soccer and football field at Lindblom Park in the city's West Englewood neighborhood.
The $2 million project would be used by students at Lindblom Math & Science Academy High School and by nearby residents and would replace two existing baseball fields at the end of the 17-acre park.
"It is my mission to ensure that the new addition will be a staple in the West Englewood community and will serve as a recreation hub for residents and students of Lindblom Math & Science Academy," Mayor Rahm Emanuel said in a statement.
A similar track and artificial turf installment was recently done at Ridge Park.
