A Chicago pee wee football team received a Christmas miracle -- and just in the nick of time.
The Chicago Chargers needed to raise about $30,000 to get to the national championships in New Orleans this weekend, but couldn't afford the trip.
Donors responded, but came up about $8,000 short by Thursday morning. That's when the Chicago Sport & Social Club stepped in with a check to cover the rest.
The team -- with several members who've never been out of the Chicago area -- leave early Friday for Louisiana.
