The Bulls remain in fourth on the Forbes list, trailing the Knicks, Lakers, and Warriors

Even in the midst of a full-scale rebuild, business is still very good for the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls, currently nine games out of a playoff spot, are nonetheless the fourth most valuable team in the NBA, according to a new valuation by Forbes Magazine.

The publication pegs the team's value at $2.6 billion, an increase of $100 million from the team's 2017 ranking.

The Bulls remain behind the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors, but fended off the charging Boston Celtics to hold onto the fourth spot for the second straight year.

Even with their modest growth, the Bulls are still the third-most valuable franchise in town, trailing the Cubs ($2.68 billion) and the Bears ($2.85 billion).

According to the magazine, the average NBA franchise is now worth $1.6 billion, a 22 percent increase over a year ago.
