D. Rose Goes “1 on 100” in Streets of Japan

The Chicago Bulls superstar shows off his offensive skills during his 'D. Rose Tour' stop in Tokyo

Derrick Rose’s Asia leg of his adidas-sponsored “D. Rose Tour” began last week, kicking off in Tokyo, Japan. The Chicago Bulls star spent three days in Tokyo, and during one public appearance, fans got a chance to see if they could defend the former MVP on the basketball court.

It would not end well for any of the challengers.

In a “1 on 100” promotion that pit Rose against a number of opponents, including a group of kids, two people dressed in dragon costumes, a guy in a ninja suit and a sumo wrestler, the Bulls superstar conquered them all with a dazzling display of crossover dribbles, a visibly improved jump shot and the speed, quickness, change of direction and explosion to the basket that has become his trademark.

Of course these defenders on the streets of Japan don’t compare to the defenders D. Rose will see once he steps back on an NBA court, but if anyone still has any concerns about his physical health and the effect on his game, they shouldn’t.

Derrick Rose looks just fine.

Rose will now travel to China where he will spend six days before the tour wraps up in the Philippines over the weekend.
