Blackhawks Ink Hinostroza to Contract Extension

Hinostroza scored seven goals for the team last season

The Chicago Blackhawks are handing out contract extensions like candy on Friday, inking Vinnie Hinostroza to a new deal.

Hinostroza, who scored seven goals and dished out 18 assists in 50 games for the Blackhawks last season, agreed to a two-year pact with the team, the Blackhawks announced on Friday.

The contract will pay Hinostroza $1.5 million per season for the next two years, according to The Athletic's Scott Powers

The Blackhawks also agreed to terms on a new two-year contract with forward John Hayden on Friday morning. Earlier in the week, defenseman Henri Jokiharju, the team's first round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, agreed to a three-year entry level contract.

With the contracts signed, the Blackhawks have a handful of restricted free agents left to sign. Forwards Anthony Duclair and Tomas Jurco still need new contracts, as does defenseman Adam Clendening.
