It was another rough week for the Rockford IceHogs, as they lost two of three games, including the final game of a tough road trip against the San Antonio Rampage.

The IceHogs, who are now 17-18-3-5 on the season, currently sit in seventh place in the Central Division, just one point ahead of the Manitoba Moose at the bottom of the heap. The IceHogs have gone 2-6-2 in their last 10 games, and have the fewest goals of any team in the AHL this season.

Game-by-Game:

The IceHogs kicked off their week by finishing up a road trip against the San Antonio Rampage, but they couldn’t finish things off on a high-note, as Bobby MacIntyre scored with just over three minutes left in the game to give the Rampage a 2-1 victory.

Victor Ejdsell scored the lone goal of the game for the IceHogs.

The IceHogs returned home on Friday to welcome the Grand Rapids Griffins to the BMO Harris Bank Center, but despite grabbing an early lead they couldn’t keep up as the Griffins romped to a 3-1 victory.

Wade Megan scored a pair of goals for the Griffins, and William Pelletier’s goal was the lone tally for Rockford.

In an Illinois Lottery Cup game Saturday, the IceHogs coughed up a two-goal lead, but they were able to get their first victory of the week in overtime as Graham Knott scored to give Rockford a 3-2 victory.

Ejdsell scored early in the second period, and Andrew Campbell scored just four minutes later as the IceHogs beat their bitter rivals.

Star of the Week:

We’ll give the honors to Victor Ejdsell this week, as he registered two goals and an assist in three games for Rockford this week. His performance leaves him with six goals and 11 assists on the season, but he’s been improving of late, registering at least one point in six of his last eight games for the IceHogs.

The Week Ahead:

The IceHogs will spend Martin Luther King Day in Iowa as they take on the Wild at 12 p.m. on Monday afternoon. They will wrap up their first half over the weekend as they welcome the Manitoba Moose to Rockford on Friday night and the Wild to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday night.
