Blackhawks' Top Forward Lines to Make Preseason Debut vs. Red Wings

The top two lines will both be fully intact for the game in the Motor City

The Chicago Blackhawks will play their second game of the preseason on Thursday night in Detroit, and the team will be loaded with stars at the forward position when they make the trip to the Motor City.

The Blackhawks’ top two forward lines will both make the trip, as Jonathan Toews will be joined by Alex DeBrincat and Chris Kunitz in the trio’s preseason debut.

The second line will be there too as Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane will skate with Nick Schmaltz in the exhibition game.

Jordan Schroeder, Dominik Kahun, Matthew Highmore, Mackenzie Entwistle, Luke Johnson, David Kampf, Jacob Nilsson, and Tyler Sikura will round out the forward group for the Blackhawks as they take on the Red Wings in the first of two preseason rendezvous.

On defense, the Blackhawks are only bringing one player who will likely be on the opening night roster, as free agent signing Brandon Manning will make his preseason debut. Andrew Campbell, Adam Boqvist, Joni Tuulola, Luc Snuggerud, Lucas Carlsson, Darren Raddysh, and Nicolas Beaudin will also be in Detroit for the game.

In net, the Blackhawks will have Anton Forsberg and Kevin Lankinen split time after Cam Ward took care of the netminding duties in the team’s first game in Columbus.

The Blackhawks and Red Wings will square off beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night, and the game will air on WGN.
