The Chicago Blackhawks have made a move to bolster their forward depth, inking Jacob Nilsson to a one-year contract extension.
Nilsson, who had 15 goals and dished out 17 assists in 61 games for the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs this season, will make $700,000 on his new deal, according to a press release from the Blackhawks.
The Swedish-born forward made his NHL debut in December for the Blackhawks. He appeared in two NHL games this season, and did not have a point in either contest.
The contract gives the Blackhawks at least 12 forwards under contract for next season, including restricted free agents David Kampf and Brendan Perlini.
