The Chicago Blackhawks have made a change to their coaching staff, as the team announced it has mutually agreed to part ways with assistant coach Don Granato.
Granato joined the Blackhawks’ coaching staff before the 2017-18 season, and stayed with the club after head coach Jeremy Colliton was hired last season.
“We appreciate Don’s contributions to the Blackhawks organization while on the staff,” Colliton said in a statement. “We wish him well in the future as he pursues other opportunities.”
The Downers Grove native has also served as a head coach for various teams, including the USA Hockey National Development Team Program and the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
The Blackhawks have not yet named Granato’s replacement.
