Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford has left Sunday's game against the San Jose Sharks after he appeared to hit his head on the goal post during a nasty collision with his own teammate.
Crawford, who suffered a concussion during the 2017 season that kept him out of action for nine months, immediately left the ice after teammate Dylan Strome him in the front of his head. Crawford's head then hit the goal post as well, sending him sprawling to the ice:
Crawford was immediately relieved by Cam Ward. San Jose's Evander Kane was assessed a penalty for shoving Strome into Crawford on the play.
A short time later, the Blackhawks announced that Crawford would not return to the game, and that they will provide an update after the contest.
