Brandon Saad, Gustav Forsling Likely Back for Blackhawks Wednesday

Saad has missed the team's last two games, and Forsling hasn't played yet this season

The Chicago Blackhawks got some mixed news on the injury front Wednesday, with two players looking to return to the ice after absences.

Winger Brandon Saad, who has missed the Blackhawks’ last two games with a right arm injury, participated in the team’s morning skate on Wednesday, and looks set to return to the lineup as the Blackhawks take on the St. Louis Blues at the United Center.

Saad skated on a line with Artem Anisimov and John Hayden Wednesday.

The Blackhawks will also likely get their first look of the season at defenseman Gustav Forsling, who was recalled from Rockford earlier this week following a conditioning assignment. Forsling was skating on the third pairing Wednesday with Brandon Manning, and it appears that Jan Rutta will be a healthy scratch to clear the way for his season debut.

The Blackhawks also announced earlier Wednesday that defenseman Brandon Davidson will miss Wednesday’s game due to a right leg injury.
