Chicago Blackhawks Acquire Andrew Shaw in Trade With Montreal Canadiens

Shaw won two Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015

The Chicago Blackhawks have brought a fan favorite back to the West Side, acquiring forward Andrew Shaw in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens.

Shaw, who was traded to the Canadiens by the Blackhawks in 2016, spent the first five seasons of his career with the team. He won a pair of Stanley Cups, and scored 70 goals and dished out 67 assists in 322 regular season games.

The Blackhawks acquired Shaw and a seventh round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft from the Canadiens in exchange for a second round pick in the 2020 draft, a seventh round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, and a third round pick in the 2021 draft.

Shaw is under contract through the end of the 2021-22 season, and will be paid an average of $3.9 million a season over the next two years.
