Chicago Bears Acquire Khalil Mack From Raiders, Multiple Reports Say

The Chicago Bears have made a massive move, acquiring defensive end Khalil Mack from the Oakland Raiders.

Mack, who was holding out for a new contract, is expected to sign a long term deal with the Bears that will make him one of the highest paid defensive players in the league.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Bears will give up two first round picks for Mack, with their 2019 and 2020 selections heading to Oakland. The Bears will also send a third round pick in 2020 and a sixth round pick in next year's draft to the Raiders in the swap.

The Bears will get a second round pick in 2020 from the Raiders as part of the deal.

Mack, who was an All-Pro at multiple positions for the Raiders, started all 16 games for the team last season, registering 10.5 sacks and 61 total tackles. He already has 40.5 career sacks, and is widely viewed as one of the top pass rushers in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers were also rumored to be interested in Mack, so the Bears not only bolster their own defense but also prevented a divisional rival from getting better.
