Chicago Bears to Let Go of Several Defensive Coaches, According to Reports

The Bears could re-shape their defensive coaching staff under new coordinator Chuck Pagano

The Chicago Bears have already made a big hire this offseason in Chuck Pagano, but the rest of their defensive coaching staff could get a bit of a shake-up.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are prepared to let outside linebackers coach Brandon Staley go after two seasons with the team.

Staley was hired before the 2017 season, but the Bears could let him go to the Denver Broncos to join Vic Fangio, who was hired as the team's new head coach last week.

The Bears have also decided to let assistant defensive backs coach Roy Anderson go, according to Biggs' report.

The one big question still facing the coaching staff is the fate of defensive backs coach Ed Donatell, who has been rumored to be a candidate for the defensive coordinator job with the Broncos. He also interviewed with the Bears prior to the hire of Pagano, but it's unclear whether he will remain with the team or seek employment elsewhere.
