Bears Would Face High-Profile Rematch With Sunday Win

The Bears would play next Saturday with a win this weekend

Unlike last week when the Chicago Bears didn’t find out their playoff opponent until nearly every game had been played Sunday, their path forward in the NFC playoffs is already crystal clear.

If the Bears, who will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon in the NFC Wild Card Round at Soldier Field, end up winning the game, they will head to Los Angeles for the Divisional Round and take on the Los Angeles Rams at the LA Coliseum.

If the Bears are in that game, they will play on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:15 p.m., and the game will air on Fox.

The Bears would be locked into playing the Rams because of the way the NFL seeding system works. The one-seed, the New Orleans Saints, would play the lower seeded team of the two clubs that advance through the Wild Card Round, and as the three seed, the Bears cannot be that team.

If the Bears win on Sunday, then the Saints will play the winner of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks next weekend in the Big Easy. If the Eagles win, then they will play the Saints, and the winner of the Dallas/Seattle game would play the Rams in Los Angeles.
