NFL Announces Date for Bears-Raiders Tilt in London

The Bears and Raiders will play one of four games the league will stage in London

The Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders are set to square off in London this fall, and fans now have a date that they can circle on their calendars for the game.

On Wednesday, the NFL announced that the Bears and Raiders will face-off at the brand new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in Week 5 of the regular season. The game will take place on Oct. 6, and kick-off is scheduled for noon Central time, according to the league.

The game will be the first NFL contest played at the new stadium, which opened earlier this year.

The game will be the Bears’ second contest in London, as the team previously played in England in Oct. 2011, when they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Wembley Stadium.

For fans looking to make a European vacation out of the trip, the Chicago Blackhawks will also be playing overseas in early October. The team will take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 4 in Prague, so if you’re willing to travel around 800 miles in two days, you could take in both games.

The NFL will play a total of four games in London this season, with two games at the Tottenham stadium and two at Wembley Stadium. The full NFL schedule will be announced on Wednesday night.
