Taylor Gabriel, Akiem Hicks Leave Bears' Game With Injuries

Gabriel caught three touchdown passes before being removed from the game

The Chicago Bears were bit hard by the injury bug on Monday night, losing a pair of key players to injuries during their game against the Washington Redskins.

Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel, who caught three first-half touchdowns for the Bears, was forced to leave the game after going into the concussion protocol, the team announced.

The Bears also lost defensive tackle Akiem Hicks, who was diagnosed with a knee ailment. Hicks was seen walking off the field to the locker room with the team's training staff, but Matt Nagy said after the game that he hopes the defensive lineman will be okay.

Prior to the game, the Bears announced that right tackle Bobby Massie would be sidelined with an undisclosed ailment. After the game, Nagy confirmed media reports that the lineman was dealing with a case of vertigo.

Finally, Eddy Piñeiro played on Monday despite dealing with a knee injury. The kicker said that he is dealing with a pinched nerve in his right knee, and said that he was in some discomfort during the game.

The Bears won't have a lot of time to heal, as they'll have a short week before taking on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.
