Bears to Open Regular Season Against Packers, Reports Say

The Bears last opened a season in Green Bay in 2009

According to multiple reports, the Chicago Bears will open their 2018 season in primetime against their biggest rival.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune and Rob Demovsky of ESPN both report that the Bears will kick off the new campaign on Sept. 9 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field with a nationally televised game.

The Bears have not opened a regular season in Green Bay since 2009.

The game will be part of the celebration for the Packers’ 100th season as a franchise. The Packers are also going to hold festivals and concerts at Lambeau Field as part of the celebration, which will span 16 months.
