Wednesday marks the official beginning of the NFL league year, and the Chicago Bears have announced a trio of signings to kick off free agency.

The Bears announced that they had agreed to a two-year deal with running back Mike Davis, a two-year contract with wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, and a three-year contract with cornerback Buster Skrine.

All three contracts are official pending physicals.

Davis, who played for the last two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, has rushed for 862 yards and five touchdowns in 35 career NFL games. He set career highs in rushes, yards, and touchdowns last season, and also caught 34 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown.

Patterson lined up at wide receiver for the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, and while he caught 21 passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns, his primary impact came as a kick returner, as he had 663 return yards and a touchdown last season for the Patriots.

Skrine, a veteran of eight NFL seasons, will likely replace Bryce Callahan as the team’s slot cornerback this season. He played in 14 games last season, defending eight passes and forcing one fumble for the New York Jets. He also registered 58 tackles on the season.

Financial terms on the three contracts were not disclosed.
