Bears Announce Big Addition to 100th Anniversary Celebration

Numerous Bears Hall of Famers, including Dick Butkus and Brian Urlacher, will be on hand

The Chicago Bears are planning a huge blowout for their Bears 100 Celebration Weekend, and the team says that the event just got a little more “ridiculous.”

The Bears, who will celebrate their 100th anniversary, along with the entire NFL, this season, are hosting a major weekend event at Rosemont’s Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on June 7 and 8. As part of that celebration, Bears from the past and present will be on hand for the festivities, and the team announced Thursday that kick returner Devin Hester will be in attendance:

In 123 games with the Bears over eight seasons, Hester racked up 13 punt return touchdowns and five more kick return touchdowns. He also returned the opening kick-off of Super Bowl XLI against the Indianapolis Colts for a score, although the Bears would go on to lose that game.

Numerous Bears Hall of Famers will be in the house, including Mike Ditka, Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers, Richard Dent, and Brian Urlacher.

According to the event website, current Bears Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks, and Mitchell Trubisky will all be in attendance, along with Bears alumni like Matt Forte, Olin Kreutz, Jim McMahon, and Charles Tillman.

Passes for the weekend start at $125, with premium passes on sale for $400. Children ages 10 and under are admitted for free with a paying adult.
