Chicago Bears TE Adam Shaheen Heading to Injured Reserve

Shaheen suffered the injury during a game against the Broncos during the preseason

Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen was hoping to avoid being shelved for the early part of the season, but that is exactly what will happen, as he will be placed on injured reserve.

Shaheen, who suffered a foot injury during a preseason game against the Denver Broncos, won't need surgery, but he will miss at least the first eight weeks of the season, the Bears revealed Sunday.

The Bears did say that Shaheen will be eligible to return off injured reserve if all goes according to plan with the rehab process for the foot.

Shaheen had 12 catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season with the Bears.
