Chicago police launched an arson and death investigation after the body of an adult was found in a garbage can set ablaze on the city's Southwest Side.
Fire department officials responded to a garbage can on fire on Saturday evening just before 10 p.m., according to the Chicago Tribune.
After putting out the fire, authorities found the remains of an adult.
Chicago Police Department spokesman says the person's gender was not immediately known.
Authorities on Sunday said the cause of death was not immediately clear.
