Summer, winter or fall it appears there will be a little bit of each season seen in the Chicago area over next few days.
With temperatures expected to spike to around 70 degrees Thursday, the city could see record warmth this week before temperatures drop more than 30 degrees in one day.
The record high for Thursday is 74 degrees, and with mostly sunny skies in the forecast, that record could be broken.
Friday is expected to start out on a milder note, with highs reaching into the mid- to upper-60s, but they will fall quickly heading into the evening hours.
A band of rain and possibly even a few thunderstorms could cross the area during the evening hours, tapering by midnight.
Meanwhile, blizzard conditions are forecast to move through parts of Minnesota Friday, bringing anywhere from 6 to 12 inches.
As temperatures plummet across the Chicago area Friday evening and into Saturday morning, lingering moisture could produce some light rain or snow showers with flurries possible during the day. But with the system still developing, there could be changes in the timing and amount of precipitation expected.
Temperature highs Saturday will sit in the low-40s and by Sunday, they could dip into the uppers-30s.
