Chicago Area to See Rainy Father's Day Weekend

If you're enjoying the beautiful weather Friday - don't get too comfortable.

After a gorgeous day with highs in the upper 70s, a round of showers and storms are expected to move into the Chicago area Friday night.

Clouds increase in the evening with precipitation moving in after 9 p.m., growing heavier overnight.

The chance for rain increases into Saturday morning, possibly heavy at times in some locations, though there may be some dry hours throughout the day between the the hours of 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. before another line of showers and storms move through.

Yet another line of storms will move into the Chicago area in the late overnight hours, potentially bringing some strong to severe weather our way.

Chance for rain continues through Sunday for a dreary Father's Day, particularly south of I-80.

But the work week looks to start partly sunny, stay dry into Tuesday with the next chance for rain returning Wednesday.
