Firehouse Evacuated After Woman Brings in Grenade

A Chicago firehouse was briefly evacuated Sunday evening after a woman brought in what officials described as a grenade.

The Chicago Police Department's Bomb and Arson Squad examined the explosive device after the woman brought it to officials at a fire station on the 600 block of West Armitage Avenue, in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Officials deemed the device not harmful and nobody was injured.

Police told NBC Chicago that anyone who discovers a weapon should call 911 to report it.
