Domestic Dispute Ends in Serious Crash: Police

Woman crashed into sedan after running red light while driving away from boyfriend, police said

Four people were sent to Chicago hospitals early Friday morning after a domestic dispute ended in a serious multi-vehicle crash in the city's Englewood neighborhood, police said.

The incident started just after midnight on the 7000 block of South Wolcott Avenue, authorities said. During an argument, a 23-year-old woman, along with two other women -- aged 18 and 22 -- left in a Chevrolet van and headed east on West 69th Street.

Her boyfriend followed in another vehicle, police said.

The 23-year-old drive through a red light at the intersection of the West 69th and South Halsted streets, striking a Ford sedan that was traveling south on Halsted, police said.

She then hit two more parked cars, police said. She and her two passengers were all ejected from the van. The 23-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and listed in stable condition, while her two passengers were both taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Ford sedan, a 52-year-old man, was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Charges were pending against the 23-year-old, police said.
