Music legend Cher on Thursday announced the cancellation of the remaining tour dates on her "Dressed to Kill" tour, citing an ongoing illness.
The remaining dates included a January appearance in Chicago.
"I am totally devastated," Cher said in a statement posted to her tour's website. "Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I'm so proud of this show. It is my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started."
Show dates had previously been postponed and rescheduled after the star developed a viral infection in advance of the tour's final leg. The infection was described in a press release as having "affected her kidney function."
"While her progress has been consistent," the release continued, "Cher's doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure a complete and total recovery."
