Celebrity Chef Judson Allen Dies at Age 36

The tightly-knit Chicago culinary community is in mourning after the loss of one of their own.

“Food Network” star and renowned Chicago chef Judson Todd Allen has died at the age of 36, his mother confirmed on Facebook.

Allen, known as “The Architect of Flavor,” was a finalist on “The Next Food Network Star,” is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

Allen was the culinary lead at the West Loop restaurant “Taste 222,” and graduated from the University of Illinois. He was also comedian Steve Harvey’s personal chef.

“I, along with his family, are in prayer and anchored by faith that Judson is in good hands and in the House of the Lord,” a representative of Allen’s said in a social media post.
