People who work downtown Chicago are being encouraged to avoid dressing up during the NATO summit.
Some workers have been asked to dress down so protesters won't target them, according to Crain's Chicago Business. Security staffs reportedly even told employees to avoid wearing anything with corporate logos. Other workplaces, including two downtown banks, are simply shutting down because of the threat of protests.
The office building at 1 E. Wacker Drive distributed a memo asking tenants to stay away from wearing suits, Crain's reports. The memo urged workers to look like a protester.
It's not clear whether the top executives at major Chicago corporations will heed the warnings and leave their suits in the closet.
The summit will be held May 20-21 with meetings at McCormick Place.
