Carimi Has New Number, Needs Nickname

Gabe Carimi has a number. Now all he needs is a nickname.

The Bears first-round draft pick will wear No. 72, the number most famously worn by William "Refrigerator" Perry, the extra-large defensive tackle who was a fan favorite during the Bears Super Bowl run in the 80s.

Though Perry was given his nickname because of his size, Carimi is five inches taller than the Fridge.

Speaking of nicknames, Carimi tweeted that he is considering a new one. He was known as "The Jewish Hammer" during his college days at Wisconsin, but threw out the idea of "The Bear Jew."

How about The Cutler Protector, in honor of the QB who welcomed him to the team with a text message just minutes after he was drafted?

Or The Packer Whacker? After all, the Wisconsin Badger did say that he converted about 100 Packers fans into Bears fans by virtue of his draft pick.
