Car Crashes Into Naperville Eye Clinic

No one was injured when a car crashed into the side of a west suburban eye care clinic on Friday afternoon.

The late model Buick sedan slammed into the side of Rosin Eyecare at 705 E. Ogden in Naperville about 1 p.m., according to a statement from the Naperville Fire Dept.

An employee called 911 and said a car was “lodged in the side of their building” and the driver was trapped inside, the statement said. A special rescue response was dispatched and found the front five feet of the vehicle had gone through the exterior wall and into the lobby of the clinic.

The driver was extricated from the vehicle but refused transport to a hospital. None of the four employees in the building at the time of the incident required medical attention, according to the statement.

A city inspector said parts of the building would require structural shoring for support before it can be safely used again, the statement said. Damage was estimated at $50,000.
