The number one 2008 pick for the WNBA draft won't likely play the season, but it's for a good reason.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Parker had only a brief statement to make in confirming the baby news: "We feel blessed."
Sparks fans may not be feeling the same, as marketing for the season has strongly promoted the well-known forward.
Parker is a Naperville native who won Rookie of the Year and is now playing for the WNBA's Los Angeles team, the Sparks.
Sparks General Manager Penny Toler said she thinks Parker can return well before the season ends.
Toler said her understanding is that Parker is expecting the baby in early May.
