More Chicagoans Robbed of Pricey Canada Goose Jackets

Startling surveillance video shows a 54-year-old man being attacked by two men traveling in a white Mercedes. They rip the man’s Canada Goose coat from his body and, after a struggle, violently push him to the ground.

The robbery happened at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night in the 2100 block of South China Place. Twenty minutes later another man was robbed of his Canada Goose coat nearby in the 200 block of West Cullerton.

This isn’t the first time these pricey coats have been targeted by thieves. Last week six people were robbed of Canada Goose coats over a three day period. Two in Hyde park and the others on the North and Northwest sides.

Marty Rodriguez says the robberies make her think twice about wearing expensive clothing out on Chicago streets.

"You can’t really have anything nice anymore," she said.

Police issued a community alert on last week for three of the previous robberies.

Police found the Audi used in last week's robberies abandoned in an alley.
