Traffic was blocked and the Chicago Transit Authority Red Line was shut down at State Street after police say a “suspicious object” was spotted. That object turned out to be a can of ravioli on wheels, photos showed.
Authorities said officers witnessed the object around noon Tuesday in the 200 block of South State Street. They blocked traffic in the area and shut down operations on the Red Line “out of an abundance of caution.”
“After an investigation of the object and speaking to witnesses, the object was cleared and all traffic and train operations returned to normal,” police said.
One person was detained and being questioned in the incident, according to authorities.
