Bushrod Misses Practice as Bears' Injury Report Fills Up

The Chicago Bears’ injury report is out, and it’s hard to tell whether there’s more players healthy or more players dealing with injuries on their roster.

Exaggeration aside, the Bears’ injury report is chock full of bad news for the team, and odds are they will have to make some roster moves as they prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.

Left tackle Jermon Bushrod continues to miss practice as he deals with the aftermath of a concussion, and he was joined on the “did not participate” list by fellow lineman Patrick Omameh. Omameh played at the left guard position after center Will Montgomery left Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders, but if he can’t go Sunday, then it would seem that Hroniss Grasu will get the start at center and Matt Slauson will kick back out to left guard for the game.

Safety Antrel Rolle missed his second straight day of practice with an ankle injury, as did wide receiver Eddie Royal. Cornerback Sherrick McManis, who missed Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring ailment, was a limited participant in Thursday’s workout.

McManis was far from alone in terms of players who were listed as “limited” Thursday. Cornerback Alan Ball (groin), quarterback Jay Cutler (hamstring), tackle Tayo Fabuluje (ankle), wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (hamstring), right tackle Kyle Long (back/ankle), linebacker Shea McClellin (elbow), punter Pat O’Donnell (knee), nose tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle), and defensive end WIll Sutton (elbow) were all limited in practice on Thursday.

There should be a clearer idea given on Friday about which players will be able to suit up for the game against the Chiefs, but the Bears could be looking at once again dealing without some key players as they try to win their second game in a row.
