A North Side Chicago building and the surrounding area was evacuated Thursday due to a suspicious object.
Just after 8 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 6000 block of N. Kedzie in Chicago’s West Ridge neighborhood on reports of a suspicious package discovered, police said.
Upon arrival, an office building was evacuated as a precaution, police said, as the Chicago Police Department Bomb and Arson Unit was dispatched to the scene to investigate.
By 11 a.m., the streets surrounding where the object were also evacuated and blocked off by police.
