Fire officials were responding to a building collapse in Chicago’s Lawndale neighborhood Thursday morning.
Chicago Fire Media tweeted that the collapse happened at 5th Avenue and Pulaski on the city’s West Side.
At least one person was being “looked at” at the scene but fire officials said at least one other person may still be inside. The department later said "reports of someone in this building appear to be unfounded."
The case is being handed over to the Department of Buildings, CFD said.
