Buckingham Fountain opens for season Sunday, bringing Chicagoans a much-needed taste of summer.
The fountain is expected to turn on during the annual “Switch on Summer event” with the Chicago Park District and ComEd.
Now in its fifth year, the event will feature giveaways, face painting, games, and American Ninja Warrior wall, live entertainment and more. There will also be free slices of Eli’s Cheesecake, while supplies lasts.
The fountain itself is scheduled to be switched on at 2 p.m.
