Harper, Bryant Take in Hockey Game in Las Vegas

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper has made it a point to inflame the emotions of Chicago Cubs fans with hints that he may join the North Siders, and on Tuesday he did it again.

Harper, who will be one of baseball’s most highly sought after free agents of all time after the 2018 season, attended a Vegas Golden Knights game on Tuesday night, and he just so happened to snap a photo with fellow Las Vegas native, and current Cubs third baseman, Kris Bryant:

Unlike previous posts, Harper did not put this one on his social media feed, with the Golden Knights themselves publishing the picture.

There have been plenty of rumblings that Harper could potentially sign with the Cubs, including a report from MLB Network’s Peter Gammons that the Cubs are Harper’s preferred destination next winter, several photos of the slugging outfielder with Bryant, and an assortment of hashtags and tongue-in-cheek jokes, including a photo captioned with the phrase “Back to Back One Day.

Harper later admitted that the photo caption was a joke, but that hasn’t stopped rumors from swirling over whether or not he and Bryant will someday bat in the same lineup.

The two sluggers share an agent, Scott Boras, and Bryant won’t be a free agent until after the 2021 season, so there is a chance, however slim, that the duo could team up if they so desire.
