A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in a South Side McDonald's Tuesday, authorities confirmed.
The victim was shot in the stomach sometime after 4 p.m. in the 4700 block of Cottage Grove in the Bronzeville neighborhood, police said. Community activist Andrew Holmes said the shooting occurred in a McDonald's. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
He was later pronounced dead.
Police were investigating but said circumstances surrounding the shooting were unknown.
No other details were immediately available.
